VD x Priestmangoode.
This CMF project for Priestmangoode has been focusing on sustainable and renewable materials and the need of individuality and home comforts during travel.
The material exploration has started through testing the limits of bioplastic. The following step was about infusing the bioplastic with a range of essential oils and food colouring which would be completely sustainable as well as easily dissolvable when discarded. This new material has subsequently been used as a varnish and in marquetry.
Another material Valentina has developed is a bacterial leather (gluconacetobacter xynilium). At the end of the harvesting the cellulosic material looked like a thin paper like sheet which has then been laser engraved.
